The IME engineering team is growing. The adoption of our Infinity Memory Engine platform is increasing and we are looking for talented people to join our collaborative team and contribute to the ongoing success of our products. The IME Operations Specialist will contribute to the team by providing IME technical support to customer deployments as well as being an IME subject matter expert to internal teams. This role has a broad set of responsibilities that allow for collaboration across engineering and related teams. As a member of a cross-functional team, you will also have the opportunity to contribute directly to IME development and provide input on IME direction setting.
The role is not limited to IME operations support and there are growth opportunities to work with and contribute to IME development and future direction.
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
Becoming an expert in the setup and operation of IME
Assisting DDN support engineers when escalations are encountered
Occasional on-site customer visits in support of IME operations
Aiding in the administration of DDN’s internal IME test clusters and parallel filesystems
I/O benchmarking in support of customer applications
Assist DDN support engineers in triaging and debugging of the IME system in customer environments Assisting IME developers and QA engineers in the maintenance of the test cluster.
- Work with the Solutions Architects to validate proposed IME designs.· Engage and work with 3rd party vendors viz. Intel/Whamcloud, RedHat, Mellanox, Brocade, Cisco, Juniper to resolve customer issues
- Work with Product Marketing to review release requirements.
- Work with QA counterparts to develop and review test plans and procedures for validating customer requirements.
- Produce/review product documentation for internal needs.
- Work with the DDN Education team to provide training where needed, either in person or through documentation.
- Assist in development/maintenance of internal tools.
- Minimum 4 yrs. experience with parallel file systems, preferably Lustre or GPFS.
- Minimum 4 yrs. In a customer-facing role
- Minimum 8 yrs. experience in the data storage industry.
- Demonstrable understanding of data storage concepts: RAID, SCSI, Infiniband, FC, Lustre file systems
- Experience working with NAS protocols: NFS, CIFS, FTP, HTTP, etc.
- Strong knowledge of Linux architecture and fundamentals.
